Health & Social Care BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma

Course type: BTEC/UAL Level 3 Diplomas • Awarding/exam body: Edexcel
Equivalent to 3 A levels.

This course is a broad-based qualification designed to prepare students for a range of careers in Health & Social Care or for entry into Higher Education. A work placement is a mandatory requirement of the course.

Course Assessment

Units 1-4 are externally assessed assignments (42%). All other units are set and assessed internally with external verification.

This Course Can Lead To…

Most students progress to university to follow a degree course in Midwifery, Social Work, Paediatric, Adult or Mental Health Nursing, Primary Teaching, Psychology, Criminology or Health and Social Care. There are also a number of employment opportunities for students directly after the course.

Entry Requirements

Grade 4 in Maths and Grade 4 in English language preferred
OR BTEC Level 2 Diploma in a relevant Level 2 qualification with Distinction
NB: A BTEC AWARD is not sufficient on its own without meeting other requirements
