This course is for those who have a strong interest in the visual arts. It provides an exciting opportunity to explore: architecture, fashion, photography, graphics, product and interior design, textiles, fine art, animation. Saint Francis Xavier Sixth Form College is an approved centre for the University of the Arts London Awarding Body, which enables us to offer our students opportunities for widening participation schemes, specialist summer schools and a supportive transition to higher education, including London College of Fashion.

Year 1 – Diploma: This qualification is assessed through one external assessment taken at the end
of the course, which is set and marked by UAL Awarding Body.
Year 2 - Extended Diploma: This qualification is assessed through one internally assessed project
taken at the end of the second unit, which is marked by the centre and moderated by the UAL Awarding Body.
This course provides young people with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to degree level study in Art and Design, into further education and training or into employment. Students typically specialise in architecture, fashion, photography, graphics, product and interior design, textiles, fine art and animation. The majority of students apply for a range of higher education courses. Some learners may choose to progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art & Design.
