The Bursary Fund may be able to provide financial support to students aged at least 16 and less than 19 on 31 August 2023 in order to help them access education. It is vitally important that you read this policy carefully before applying.

Before applying for the Bursary, you will need to sign into your College Google account. You will also need to read the Bursary and Free College Meals Policy 2023 - 24* and make sure you upload correct evidence with the application form as outlined.

General Bursary Application Form (will only work if you are logged into your College Google account):
Eligibility
- Annual household income for 2022-23 is £20,000 or under
- Had Free School Meals at secondary school (email or letter needed as evidence from the previous school)

Enhanced Bursary Application Form (will only work if you are logged into your College Google account)

 - students in care, care leavers or in receipt of Universal Credit in your own name

Returning Students Form (will only work if you are logged into your College Google account)
Those who were eligible for the Bursary last year must complete this short Google Form confirming that their situation has not changed, but DO NOT have to complete another full application.

It is important that students make early applications for 16 – 19 Bursary funding, as there is a limited amount in the fund for 2023 - 2024. Once the funding has been used, the College will be unable to offer further financial support.

Free College Meals
All students who are eligible for the Bursary, either General or Enhanced, will receive Free College Meals, up to a value of £3.50, which is added onto your ID Card each day to spend in the College Canteen. This re-sets each day. Completion of a Bursary Application Form is required for Free College Meals eligibility to be considered.

Care to Learn

Students who are young parents can apply to the Care to Learn scheme.

There are no tuition fees chargeable to full-time students from within the European Union for those under 19 years of age on 1st September 2023 .
