Why should I choose a sixth form college rather than a school sixth form?
We are Sixth Form Specialists – all of our teaching, facilities and support services are specially designed for 16-19 year olds and their specific needs, and run by experts with years of experience working with this age group.
Unrivalled Course Choice – because we are solely focused on teaching 16-19 year olds, we can offer a range of courses most schools simply can’t.
Preparation for independence – outside of lesson time we support students to work independently, and manage their study in a way that best suits them. We treat students like adults and help prepare them for life at university or in work.
New Opportunities – our students relish the chance to meet a new group of like-minded people, make new friends and explore new opportunities in a fresh environment.

Why should I choose St. Francis Xavier Sixth Form College?
Outstanding Results – our unrivalled quality of teaching, facilities and academic support supports every student to get the best grades possible. Over 96% of our UCAS reigstered students progressed to university last year - far higher than most other sixth form colleges. Those students are now studying at universities across the country, including Durham, , Kings, UCL and many other top-rated Russell Group establishments. We are rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted.
Impressive Facilities – our facilities are second to none, including our library, gym, sports grounds, music and media studios, chapel, and onsite Costa Coffee bar.
Academic & Careers Support – our dedicated academic and careers support teams help every student to reach their full potential, and achieve their desired next steps. We cover the full range of support needed, from those needing help to stay on track, to special support for Oxbridge and Russell Group applicants.
Student Wellbeing – we take the physical and mental health of our students seriously, and offer a full range of services designed to help foster wellbeing at the college. As a Catholic school we support and promote values such as kindness, inclusion and respect for everyone; and we pride ourselves on having a vibrant and supportive community.
