Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Sixth Form College is just 45 Colleges to be awarded funds from the DfE for capital projects to support the delivery of T levels. Having been successfully granted permission to commence the delivery of the Business Administration T level route from September 2022, the College will now be able to provide a state of the art Business Hub to support its delivery.

College Principal, Graham Thompson said of the award:

“I’m thrilled that the College has been successful with its application to receive a slice of the T-level capital fund this year. This award will allow our students to have access to highest quality facilities and resources when we commence delivery of the business administration T level from September 2022. It will also allow our students to be successful on the course and equipped with the essential knowledge, skills and practical experience they require to embark upon their chosen career paths”.

T Levels were launched in September 2020 and are a new qualification, developed to offer a credible alternative to A Levels. T Levels have been designed with leading businesses and employers to give those that study them the knowledge and higher level skills needed to progress into skilled employment, higher apprenticeships or onto degree-level study at university.

A fundamental component of the T Level qualification is an industry-based placement, where students will transfer the skills they have learnt and developed in the classroom into the workplace.  By doing so, it is hoped that students will be equipped with the essential higher level of work-ready skills that employers are seeking.
